The Presbyterian Women are cooking . . . SOUL FOOD!
Soul Food is the PW Service Circle's combined effort to support and care for members and prospective members of the FPC congregation. Meals will be prepared quarterly and frozen to be delivered in the case of the following:
1. Members with unexpected emergencies 2. Members expecting/just having new babies or some type of hospitalization 3. Members who are homebound 4. Members who are the caretakers of their own family and need a little love 5. Church visitors experiencing hardship SF works on a quarterly cycle of preparing 12 meals (main dish, bread and dessert) for the freezer located in the fellowship hall. At the end of the 3 month rotation left over meals will be delivered to homebound members in preparation for the newly cooked meals to be added to the freezer. SF will need church-wide volunteers to help deliver meals, as well as, members contributing homemade or store bought items to our freezer. Beginning at the end of September Soul Food will begin stocking the pantry in the preparation effort. Help Stock the Soul Food Pantry! We will need canned soups, rice, chicken, desserts, bread and vegetables. Please contact Jennifer Whitley to provide assistance with this exciting new ministry!
