Scouting has a long history at First Presbyterian:  Boy Scout Troop 301 was chartered in 1945; Girl Scouts became active around 1980.  Through the years both scouting programs have enjoyed constant success.  Please refer to the church calendar link for specific events and activities.

BOY SCOUTS

Boy Scout Troop 301 meets at 7:00 p.m. Monday nights in the Scout Hut located just   behind the Activities Building on Stephens Lane.  This large, active troop goes camping once a month and participates in service projects such as Scouting for Food. There are activities suited to younger and older boys, including a Venture crew that takes more rigorous trips. The troop also sends boys to summer camp; the troop will head to Camp Bowers in June 2008. Contact: Scoutmaster Brad Losh (910-738-4314).

CUB SCOUTS

Cub Scout Pack 301 --- Each den meets according to their schedule.  Several Pack Meetings are held during the year at which Scouts receive awards earned since the last Pack Meeting.  A Blue/Gold Banquet is held during the spring along with the Pinewood Derby Race.  Contact: Cub Master Tommy Roach (910-738-3503).

 Troop 1168 Cadet and Senior Scouts for girls in grades 7 through 12 meets at 7:15 p.m. every Monday evening in the Scout Room, located on the second floor of the Sanctuary Building. Contact:   Nancy Pittman
                        
Troop 1443 Junior Girl Scouts for girls in grades 4 through 6 meets at 3:45 p.m. with Nancy Pittman on the first and third Tuesday in the Scout Room.
          
Troop 1509 Brownie Scouts for girls in grades 1 through 3 meets in the Scout Room at 3:45 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday. Contact: Michelle Raines.
